Jeanette feels that by being in business you certainly know you are alive. If you can take the ups and downs, it is great to be an entrepreneur. She has been in business for 30 years and has learned what works and what is needed to make a business successful.

The Te Wananga o Aotearoa Certificate in Small Business and Project Management course that Jeanette co-ordinates and tutors has an incubator-like atmosphere. Businesses support one another in a vibrant, stimulating environment, and Jeanette finds it exciting to be part of Wairarapa's innovative community.

Jeanette also tutors the Te Wananga o Aotearoa Certificate in Money Management and says attending the course is better than winning the lotto. She is also a Certified Facilitator for the Commission for Financial Capability, helping New Zealanders build knowledge and skills to improve their wealth.

Phil has been tutoring and assessing in the forestry industry since 1996. He moved into agricultural training in 2000 and is now, in addition to being a PITO Approved Contract Trainer for agricultural skills, a MITO registered 4WD Trainer.

Phil enjoys helping clients upskill for personal improvement while formally recognising their skills to meet health and safety requirements.

His love of four wheel driving around the Wairarapa countryside is a perfect fit for the practical way he delivers 4WD training.

Steve enjoys travelling around New Zealand upskilling trainees in chainsaw use, tree felling, quad bikes, LUVs, and health and safety.

Even experienced operators report they gain new efficiencies and further skills. Steve values on-site delivery that helps trainees gain formal NZQA unit standards and documentation to satisfy health and safety requirements and reduce ACC levies.

He has strong rapport with trainees and enjoys adapting training situations to suit each group's needs.

Kevin and Kerry Mitchell joined the team in 2019. Their delivery area for TVL covers Auckland to Cape Reinga, with occasional support outside that region for the wider team.

Kerry was previously Regional Manager for Taratahi in Tai Tokerau, Northland. Kevin has many years of experience as a tutor and later as an education delivery quality supervisor for Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre.

Kevin's background spans mechanical engineering, welding, dairy, beef, and sheep farming. In recent years he has focused on pre-employment training for young people, where his passion lies. Together, they are dedicated to empowering industry and employment within the region.
